Our Borough is enjoying the greatest growth and revitalization since World War II and Marty Golden wants it to continue, allowing every neighborhood to share in this tremendous economic boom.

Atlantic Yards Project: Although there is still work to be done to define and refine it, Marty Golden supports this plan for three reasons:
  1. It will mean the return of a professional sports team to Brooklyn for the first time in over half a century.
  2. The construction of the arena and surrounding facilities will bring large numbers of short-term and long-term jobs to Brooklyn.
  3. It will create new, affordable housing for Brooklyn.

Local School Expansion: With help from Marty Golden, our local schools are finally getting the chance to grow:
  • P.S. 229 is expanding from K-5 to K-8, which will create room for an additional 600 students.
  • New Utrecht High School is adding two new floors, with room for 13 new classrooms and 340 new students.
  • P.S. 163 is being considered for an extension.
  • P.S. 97 is also being considered and will be evaluated for an extension.
  • McKinley I.S. 259 is being considered for a new school extension, thanks to Marty’s involvement.

Longterm Care Compact: Marty Golden is working on a program to protect your home and many assets, while making nursing home care available. This would prevent families from losing everything when a loved one needs nursing home care.
